Staithe ’n’ Willow is a beautiful thatched building, beside the river Bure on the Norfolk Broads. The main building was built in 1695, with additions in the early 1800’s and mid 1960’s. In fine weather you can sit in the gardens and enjoy the view…Sundays’ are quite a spectacle on the river with the local sailing club racing along the Bure. This is a great place to stop, for refreshments, if you are cycling around the area.
It is run by Joy, her daughter Jenna and their team. They serve a wide variety of food, ranging from Breakfast, morning coffees, light lunches, cream teas and evening meals. You can even have “take-away” if you wish to enjoy the river even more. Theme nights are held, through-out the year, which include Thai, Curry and Burger nights.
A specials board increases the variety on the menu, which includes gluten free and vegetarian choices. Fresh baked scones are an essential ingredient of our cream teas served with strawberry jam and clotted cream. Or maybe afternoon tea served with finger sandwiches, scones and jam and cream or a selection of delicious cakes.
The produce used is sourced as locally as possible. Meat comes from Farm Fresh meats in Horning, fruit and vegetables from a local farm shop and exclusively, award winning Norfolk wine from Winbirri Wines.
The premises are licensed to sell alcohol and stock a range of local bottled beers and ales as well as a comprehensive wine menu.
Staithe ‘n’ Willow is a dog friendly establishment…with a delicious treat available for our furry customers.
